Yesterday was Baha’u'llah’s birthday. He was born in the Land of Ta’ (Tehran) in year 1817. Here’s a nice post by Manesh.

We were very lucky to also get to host the celebration for our community at our home yesterday during lunch. Roshan decided to cook Mutton Varuval for the occassion, also because it is the favourite food for many of us and he has just recently learnt the recipe. We started preparing from the night before with our housemate till late night, of course joyously chatting away while cutting and cooking. We all felt that it was such an occassion and we were all excited instead of feeling tired. Friends came from as far as Sweden to attend this gathering. We have friends outside of our community that came and join us on a week day afternoon and had a lovely lunch with prayers and games, and a short talk prepared by a dear friend.

The community we live in (London has 32 boroughs, thus 32 Local Spiritual Assemblies) is called Wandsworth and it has a small Baha’i community – with a feast attendance of about 10 people, mostly older people except the ones in our house. But we love having activities in our home and the youth and young adults in the neighbouring communities would also come and join in. One community member yesterday left the event saying he was very pleased to be among the young people and had good laugh with good fun, and to see such joy in his eyes, I was very touched.

Anyways, I’d just like to attach this music video I just saw today. It’s one of my favourite song, ever, as Devon sung it with so much love and passion. To have seen him perform live was a truly amazing experience too – I get goosebumps almost every time I listen to this song. :) Enjoy.
